Would Polarg M-4's fit for the license plate? I tried putting M-6's in there but the clear cover keep them from going in all the way.

Yes, the plate lights are 194s, so yes M-4s will fit inside there. I have replaced my stock bulbs with LEDs. Looks TONS better!!

M4 is the designation Polarg uses to identify their type 194 bulb. 194 is a universal size/type. I would assume most manufacturers designate their 194's by calling them 194's, but Polarg chose a different designation, no biggy.

But does that mean the color/brightness is the same for the PIAAs and the Polargs?

Default Silver Star and PIAA info

I just wanted to add that the day after I bought my GS (12/17/03) I had Silverstars put in. Well Last sunday the Driver's side low beam went out. On tuesday the Pass. side bulb went out. Needless to say, for $50(not including tax) I could have went with PIAA bulbs.

As for PIAA bulbs, where can I get them for the lowest price? Which are the brightest? I want the whitest lights available.

The only thing they'll have in common for sure is the shape of the bulb, and the wattage they use. In this case it's 5W. Now the color/brightness (I'm assuming you're referring to "percieved" brightness) can be totally different. It all depends on each company makes their own bulbs. I've seen some actually use colored glass (ie PIAA), where as some others just "coat" the regular clear bulbs with some kind of colored film. I think Polarg uses the colored glass method, my memory is a bit foggy. The color used though is slightly different than the PIAA, hence the different look when powered up.

7440

Let us know how it turns out. I've been wanting to do LEDs on my rear, but haven't seen anything that'll work that I'd be happy with. Post pics if possible. Good Luck.
