Default "HID" color change???

Question?:

I have had my aftermarket 6000k (Eagle-Lite) HID's installed for about a year now.
Recently I notice a color difference in them...The "left one" looks kinda greenish (which is how both looked new).
The "right one" now looks blue-ish???
Anyone have this happen?

Thanks,
Wiggy

One year isn't that fast when your bulbs aren't Philips or Osram. One year, or less, is common for second-tier bulb manufacturers.

replacement HID's
there are only 2 type of HID: D2R,D2S, no matter who manufacture it. so whatever they type you are using, get the same type, then it will fit.

umm.... but he has the 6000k hid kit, so probably he's not using stock hid. if that's the case, you need to get hid bulbs that are rebased to 9006 type

Default I think

All HID bulbs are the same...meaning they using H7 bulbs (d2r or d2s) and if they are retrofit into 9006 then they have a plastic kit attached to the base of the bulb where the retainer holds it in
place...correct me if I am wrong

yup you are right, all hid bulbs originated from d2r or d2s. companies take away the old base and put on the new base (9006, h1, etc...) so they fit in other housing. in fact, all the rebased bulbs use d2s. but i don't think you can do the rebase yourself?

no, there are different plug setup. there is the standard D2 base which uses a red plug and there is the 2 wire setup. also these 2 wire setup come in different connection so you might have to buy from eagle

ummmm that's interesting. i have seen a pair of "dying" hid, it was really blue before it died. maybe there are couple of "ways" to die?

Again, thanks for the responses!!!...I guess when the time comes, I'll order from "Eagle"; MidnightMoose.COM (actually the company that I bought them from).
But if you guys find out that this/my kit is compatible w/ say "phillips" replacment or "osram", let me know!

Cool Old HID lights

As HID bulbs get older, they tend to be more white/yellowish and not as bright as when they are new. I have a pair of Orasm D2S
(purchase used) using with a pair of Audi projector in my 97 Prelude (thanks to the real BananaGS ) oh by the way I am not the real BananaGS, I am his brother. Not sure how old these bulbs are but they dont look any blue at all even with the projector. I am talkin about the light cast on the road. Very nice color when just turn on but when it is warmed up. It looks too yellow for my taste The color when my HID just turn on (about 3 seconds after u flip the switch) look identical to my my brother's GS4 HID when his lights are fully warmed up. Oh yeah, BMW projectors are much better for retrofit in ur headlights than Audi. I have seen 2 Preludes with same set up with different projectors and the one with BMW projector put much more light to the road...Looking at the HID lights can be deceiving. At certain angle HID light will look no blue than at another angle. If you look at BMW headlight from an angle..they look very blueish, but if looking at them directly, they should be white.
