you haven't even told us what the brand is, how could we tell? anyway, it's not philips for sure coz' they only have up to 6000k. imho i would never touch 7000k and above stuff.... they are dim. you see it bright coz' you are looking at the light source, and 7000k has different light pattern so it scatters everywhere that's why you THINK it's bright. but from inside the car driving you are way off comparing to 4100k.

so my suggestion? unless your car is pure a show car, it's a big nono

7000K may appear to look brighter than 4100K OEM, but they are not. The blueness of the 7000K creates blue glare, which is a higher energy wavelength than white, and thus registers more burn in your retina. You only have half the number of blue light receptors in your retina than red or green, which is why blue light of the same number of lumens is perceived as more intense. Take a blue LED and red LED of the same output. Shine one in each eye and the blue will appear to be more intense, but in reality it is outputing the same amount of light as the red LED. The phenomenon of glare. Anyway, I digress. Compare the beam patterns on the ground and the 4100K OEM HIDs assuredly produce more useable light than the 7000K HID kit.

BTW, as an aside, look at all those many many riced out cars on the road that use bluish halogen bulbs. They appear pretty bright at night when you look into them, but then you look at the light on the ground and realize it's dimmer than a normal run of the mill halogen bulb of the car right next to his.

i have 6000k and the light output on the road is a bit less than the 4300k, but still very nice. imho 6000k is the highest you should go
