Default Sylvania Silverstar bulbs

Hi guys,

I out some 9005 Silverstar bulbs in my low beams last week. You have to modify the connector and housing slightly to make them fit. The look is as close to HID as I've seen yet. These bulbs cost about 25 bucks a piece but can be purchased at many auto stores.

several people have done that on the forum so far, myself include. I'll agree that they light up the road a little better than the stock bulbs but they arent anywhere near HID's. but i guess for the price difference i really cant complain.

i have heard very extreme comments about this though. i had piaa and love it, and worked great. i have heard people having silverstar burning out very fast, then changed to piaa and very durable. but then i have heard people saying piaa is way overpriced coz' their silverstar is still holding up fine

my silverstars plugged right in and they are a very good upgrade for the $$.
I just can't seem to get the dang headlights as bright as i want them no matter what, they aren't as bright as any of my other cars, but the silverstars worked great for improving the lighting and have been in there for 5 months. no problems.

I've read some posts where people say that the Sylvania's melted their sockets or something, anyone had any trouble with their Sylvania's?

I have not heard or read that Sylvania's presented a problem! I have had the Sylvania's Silverstars on my SC for well over a year and had no such signs of melt down. Sylvania's wattage do not exceed the allowable requirements. I have even done the bulb conversion!! .
It's the other 100+ wattage bulbs that can do you damage
