Question What else do I need?

First of all I am a new lexus owner and love this site! Any Help would be appreciated! I purchased a 99 gs400 hid balest set and d2r bulbs. I want to put them on my 98 gs300, Will they work and do I need anything else? What about the wiring?

Thank you
Byron

well the wiring should be ok, but the bulbs aren't. they will fit in the 9006 housing on your gs3, but it won't hold and no water proof. you can use stuff like silicone to seal it, but it's hard to change the bulbs later

Thank you for the quick response! Will I need projectors for these bulbs? Also do I need another setup for the high beam or hid is just for low beam!

Thank you

no projectors needed, new gs all have reflective housing

well you can get hid for high beam but that would be 9005 instead of 9006 for low beam. however, you don't use it that often right?

i think the beam pattern would be all screwy if you just used silicone and plugged the bulb in there. You could try an adapter ring that goes around the base, but I a 9006 bulb with a rebase will give the best results.
