I just recieved my 6000k conversion kit, complete with Philips bulbs and ballasts and I thought I'd go ahead and make a simple video. I don't go into much detail but you can see how everything is setup. There is also a comparison of my 6000k's with my mother's 98 LS400, which has stock HID's. i definitely like 6000k more. 4300k is just way too yellow for me.

 

you just need to get a kit for your headlight housing and you are fine. for example 9006?

it's definitely a very "rush" install huh? hehee, but anyway it's really good, it works! and you showed the color very very well, that's exactly how my 6000k looks as well, a bit blue hue to it but not ricey. on the wall you can see the 6000k is so white and the stock one is like a bit yellow to it

 

Agreed, the Hids look great but I hope you will re-route the wireing. Make it a bit cleaner and safer.

 

6000k definately is the way to go! I'm never getting anything less from now on.

I actually went to Blockbuster last night and when I pulled up my lights shined through the whole store. The clerk quickly turned around to see what it was. When I came to the checkout with my movies the guy said, "hey did you put audi lights in your car?". I told him about the 6000k's and how Audi's are 4100k's in projector housings, which cause the color flicker.

It's great it got noticed like that! Seriously, going from halogen to HID is amazing. It's a totally different feeling for me driving this car. Also, maybe because of the fact that I'm the only one in Auburn, AL with 6000k's

 

I got some 14 gauge power wire and some connectors and extended the red wire that connected to my battery. I then ran the long black wire in front of the radiator and used zip ties to make sure it didn't touch. I made sure it only touched the frame. Very clean install now. Very happy

yeah, 6000k is deifnitley the way to go. i can assure you, no matter what car i get next, it will have hid. and no matter what, changing to 6000k is the first thing i do. i can't stay the 4100k anymore, it's just too yellow for me imho. i love 6000k. every notices, but no one says "ewww, ricer"

Nice video and comparo with your mom's 4100K HID. I'm glad you extended that battery wire and re-routed the cables.....that quick install looked scary to me. LOL.

Hehe, yeah, I was worried for a bit that the zip tie that was holding the main cable was going to fall off and let everything hit the serpentine belt. Now, that would be VERY bad. Install looks great now -- all you can see pretty much are the ballasts
