The bad side to cleared lights...
Comming from from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham yesterday there was some major flash flooding. Right when I got on the interstate I was driving with a nice late model blue Z28 camero with some body kit. Duh his headlights and high beams were out but he had clear cornered his parking lights and fogs.
Well we're driving along and all of a sudden WHOOSH! The rain is horrible, no in between at all. Just a wall of water. (you could see where it was raining when I came up on it) So everyone is slowed to 35-40, some people are stopped off the interstate. EVERYONE has their emergency blinkers on. I cut on my fog lights and Boom! Glad I haven't gotten around to re-aiming them, but they practically doubled the range I could see reflectors.
Ofcource I couldn't see the camero behind me if he was 30 feet away. I could bearly make out his fogs, which I woulda classified as "normal". (as in not bright as any aftermarket)
Anywhos... If you live in an area prone to heavy fog or very heavy rain, just leave them yellow. Better be safe than sorry. Remember what YOU can see is not always important. It's if everyone else can see you that's important.
What a wierd month... This May has been the wettest month in Alabama history. Gonna be a bad drought again in the dawg days, you can tell cause we've had so much rain
