However, you do need a battery relay to reduce the draw from the alternator when the ignitors fire up.

The color output of 8000k's are also really really blue. Skyish blue. Ricey looking in my opinion -- not the kind of reaction you'd want after shelling out that kind of money for HID's.
Also, the only real bulbs (no coating) that can achieve a higher color temperature than 4100k/4300k's are Philips Ultinon 6000k's. Most of the 8000k or higher color temp. bulbs are cheap Korean bulbs that end up blowing after a short period of time. The Philip's bulbs should outlast the life of your car with normal use.
PHML, rominl, SouthernSunGS, and I (there are others too) bought out Philips 6000k kit from a vendor that sells the kits at a great price with 100% quality parts. His name is Jason and he can be reached at: discountcycle@ureach.com -- His kits go for around $455 shipped. If you go to groupbuycenter.com and search for 6000k then you can find a group buy led by him (most of the time when he has them in stock). Do a search on 6000k and you can see the color temp they put out. It makes stock HID look yellow

EV ftw!!!
I got my 6000K Philips Ultinon HID kit for the 9006 housing (fogs on a 2nd gen GS) for $420.00 shipped to Canada from Jason!
Awesome lighting now. Now I have to upgrade the stock OEM HID low beams from 4100K to 6000K because they don't look so white now with the fogs on..............
