LS430 HIDs (What's Up?)
When I start my LS430 at night and I turn on my lights, they start out as a beautiful blue (simiar to BMW and Audi). Then, after about 10 seconds, they get whiter and more yellowish. Is this normal for an LS?

Great. Thanks.
What I still don't understand is: Why are BMW and Audi HIDs so beautiful with a spectrum of colors from blue to purple and white and my HIDs are just Bluish-white at the source?

It's b/c BMW and Audi use projector HID's. The projectors have a cool flicker effect, so they can appear real blue/purple at certain angles. Hopefully Lexus will use projector HID's in future models....looks cool.

Wow. Very interesting. Besides how cool they look, are there any advantages to the projector type HIDs?

In my "projective" opinion, I would say that reflective lighting lights up more in terms of reaching out further.
Projective lighting is like a landscape picture where you can see the left and right side clearly.
The projectors give a cutoff line and you are able to see where the light ends. Whereas with reflective lighting you can't really see where the light "cuts off".
Overall I am happy with the projective lighting as it looks cool and it helps alot when I am adjusting the aim of my headlight (as I can see it moving).

The HID color setup on my father's new RX330 is very similar to BMW/Audi. The color seems to be much more purple/blue than the HIDs in other Lexus cars. Has anyone noticed this?

The RX330 also uses projectors, and thus gives color flicker. A couple of times this week I saw lights that I thought were a BMW X5, but turned out to be an RX330. I also saw an SC430 at night for the first time Saturday, and was impressed by the flicker.
