Are you serious? Simply put, if you don't have the Xenons, your headlights will look yellowish like all the other cars on the road. Xenons have a very bright bluish white hue.

The stock ones are self-leveling, so if the car's in a garage and you start the car with the lights on, you'll see the light images on the wall go down then up showing them self-leveling.

Open hood, and remove the low-beam bulb. If its says 9006 55W, then its halogen.

Please try to be more courteous to curious people simply asking questions. It may be obvious to you, but if it was to everyone then they wouldn't have to ask. Your answer doesn't help much either: saying that xenons are brighter doesn't help somebody with a Lexus in their garage with nothing to compare it to. Brighter than what?

Here's a question for the experts: does the HID option show up anywhere as a VIN character so there's an easy way to check using the VIN?

Cars with xenon will have a high voltage warning sticker on the headlamp assemblies, as well.

my question was not intended to be a silly question. The reason why Im asking is that I have seen alot of people just replace the bulbs and to me it looks like they have Xenon. As stated above, LexusgS3 claims that it should be bluish or purple type color... To me if it is from the factory then they all should be identical to a certain extent. The simple question I'm asking is their a way to tell if you have a factory Lexus Xenon HID kit or just plain bulbs, or an aftermarket HID kit?? like #'s on the headlight assembly or VIN e.t.c...... Some people ask me are those real XENON's headlights or aftermarket, I would like a way to show them without taking the headlight assembly apart..

thanks.

please be more considerate. people come to clublexus to ask questions, there is never a stupid question, and we should try to help people out rather than bashing about their questions.

Lettuce, don't worry about those negative comments and stop asking questions. a lot of members here are very helpful, and i think you should have gotten your answers you looking for

You can't get to the factory HID bulbs w/o taking off the front bumper. It is impossible.

So called Hid bulbs which are supposed to give off that HID look will give a very distorted vision. They are basically painted light bulbs.

All in all, you can tell by the pattern of light. You can see almost 100% coverage of the area in front of you whereas non xenons, will have less coverage.
