Default 1996 LS400 Changing Headlight to LED

The original headlights on my 1996 LS400 leave a lot to be desired with the new LED technology that's out there.
Can anyone recommend a replacement bulb? I have seen demonstrations on youtube and read articles that there
is a problem with the rubber boot not fitting over the rear of these bulbs. Some people are just cutting it off but that makes it susceptible to dust and moisture.
Not a good idea. Anyone run into this when replacing theirs?

Need to hear from people that have tried using an H4 LED or xenon bulb. HID kit would be better since the bulb itself is the same size as the original, BUT it may produce a poor beam pattern. Or it may work well. They key for any replacement is the emitter must be in exactly the same place as the original filament if not you will probably get unpredictable lighting.

Thanks for the input. I agree that I need to hear from someone who has actually done this successfully and maintained a good beam pattern
