okay so I have a gs430, the daytime running lights are amazingly ugly and yellow almost brown in color (yuck
), does anyone have any recommendations on which brand of bulb I should replace it with? im leaning more towards the color of 7K, or 8K HID (cant replace the middle lights with HID's ovbiously so making the color emitting from the rest of the lights on the car should be consistent no ? ) and oh yeah...what is the bulb size? its h3 right? I know all you CL guru's have your opinons and advice...so bring um on!

the bulb size is 9005. however, even assume it's running at full power, there is no way you can find a halogen that will do anything higher than the 4100k stock hid look. it's just not capable of using the raw wattage power to do the lighting. even going for 4100k color look the wattage would be pretty high already
with that said, the day time running light it's the high beam running at 50% power, so even if you put in a superwhite 4100k halogen bulb (if you can find one), it will still look yellow. the 9005 is running at 55w i believe (could be wrong), so unless you put in a 100w bulb in there (therefore 50% is 50w, close enough), it will look yellow no matter what. but if you put in a 100w bulb in there, just make sure you don't use the high beam, otherwise you will melt one or more thing.

yah....like rominl said....its 9005 for the DRL/high beam bulb. No matter what bulb you put in there, it'll be yellow for the DRL...even Silverstars. Be careful of overwattage....i believe stock 9005 is 65 watts...anything higher and you will melt your socket or wires.
If you put re-based 9005 HID system in there, I'm not sure the DRL will work...it might even mess up the ballast and 9005 HID bulb due to the 50% power. Again...this is only a hunch...You can be our beta tester ...let us know how it goes.

I feel the same way the DRL's are definatly not attractive especially at night when u got that an your fog lights with your HIDS on..its like 3 different colors.. I wish u could turn of the DRL's. Would it be possible to get DRL's like the same color as the fog lights???not sure
