Hey everyone,
I have a 97' ES300 and the one thing I would like to update the most would be xenon headlights. Does anyone here have any idea about swapping in the available hid headlights from the 00-01's? Also, what parts are involved, because I see on eBay right now there is a set of wires, bulbs and headlight computers for an RX 300 which I would think would fit an ES, but would they interface with a 97?

the bowls are different on the 97-99 than the 00-01, the 00-01 are made for hid (different headlights if you see pictures of both), and then you can get yourself an h7 hid kit. or you can retrofit projector lights into your current headlights, as i will be doing soon

I think the original question dealt with whether the 00-01 HID assemblies (which have different bowls than the 00-01 halogen) would fit a 97. They should bolt on, as the halogen assemblies for the 01 are identical to the halogen assemblies for the 97. You wouldn't have auto-levelling (but neither does an Acura TL with stock HID), but you would have a very clean beam pattern using the reflector units designed for HID. You will need to rig a wiring harness w/relays to safely connect your HID ballasts to the stock halogen sockets, and run wires directly to the battery (to avoid frying your headlamp switch during startup of the ballasts).
