Default Can a 9004 based headlight be converted to HID?

A friend of mine that has a Corrolla has the 9004 bulbs in his car and was wondering if an HID kit exists for such a headlamp. I laughed at him, but he sounds so serious, I thought I would ask on his behalf.

Anybody know?

To support/confirm rominl's response....yes...they do have a 9004 rebased HID kit that is/was available (prior to the "supposed" HID ban). I have them in my 1st gen LS400.

Thanks!!

The guy I bought my 6000K HID bulbs from ( jus4bulbs@yahoo.com - rominl recommended him - awesome guy - fast replies to questions and very fast delivery of product) said he can get a 9004 HID kit for the Corolla for US$494.00 shipped to Canada. So in fact they still can be bought. Not sure if my friend who has the Corolla will be wiling to spring ~500 bucks to upgrade his headlights!

The only thing with the 9004 HID kit is that high beam is gone after the HID mod. 9004 bulb consists of low and high beam filaments.

They are beyond amazing. I have to take some night time pics and then I will post up a thread about that mod!!! Now the fogs don't have that very fait bluish tint to them anymore compared to the 6000K hids in the low beams! I am glad I did this mod!!!

Now I need to get a TC and some rims!!!
