Default Help! Why don't the Silverstars fit??

Well, I bought the Silverstars (lows, 9006) and my new headlights, which were from Japan.. I checked out the bulb number on Sylvania's site, and it says 9006.. Which is what I have. Only problem is, they won't fit on the housing.. I have Cool Blue High's, and it fit no problem.. But these lows won't fit! What's wrong? Could it be that because the lights are Japan spec they won't fit?

Here is a pic with the stock bulb and the Silverstar:

All 3 sides of the "mazes" are different:

Alright, just realized that I had a set of crummy generic 9006 ones and compared them to the Silverstars.. They are the same!

Looks like the Japan bulb is the the different one.. Any idea on what kind of bulb that is?? These headlights that I bought are off a 92 ES..

The stock halogen lows in my '96 ES have "Sylvania" imprinted on the bottom of the housing, the same as shown in the Silverstars of your pic. I'm not sure what the deal is with the other stock bulbs you have.

Yea, I think it's the actual headlamp.. maybe cuz it's j-spec? I'm not too sure what the bulb number is, cuz it really doesn't say anywhere for the low beams....

Can any other headlight gurus out there decipher what bulb that is on the left?

haha, look closely, two of the ***** are bigger and one smaller. from the picture, rotate the new one (right one) clockwise by 120 degrees and you get the same base already. so why won't it fit!

I really wish that was the case rominl, but it does not fit. As you can see with the Silverstar (pic on right), two of the "connectors" are wider, while the last one is thin. As for the other bulb, two of the connectors are thin, while one is wide... Everytime I rotate to snap in, one of the wide ones from the Silverstar won't fit.

Anyone help?

umm...... now that's very weird... so you saying your old bulbs, two of the ***** are narrow and one is wide?! that's very awkward. from what i know (and all the 9006 i have seen so far) they all have 2 wide and 1 narrow **** @+@

umm..... then umm...... you think you can trim one of the ****? that's the easiest way i think

Yea, I just tried to put the Silverstars on my current headlamps (the one I wish to replace), and they fit fine.... The socket for the 9006 from the headlamps I bought from Japan, I am beginning to believe, was modified to fit this "two thin ***** and one wide" bulb..

Here are a few pics that I took.. If you look closely, you will see that the socket was indeed cut, since the socket has some rough edges.. At least from what I can tell.

So I guess another solution would be to find out which bulb has "two thin ***** and one wide".. Anyone know? lol.. If I do find it, I'm gonna get more bulbs for it and install these Silverstars on my sister's ES..

First pic: Here is the 9006 socket, in which the standard bulbs don't fit

I'm not too sure, but looks like the sockets are cut:

Ask..... Retrodrive. I got him some JDM headlights and he had to install a diffrent HIDs then the ones he already had.

I think its the same type of problem JDM & U.S. dont match.
