Default 1999 Power Steering Reservoir Hoses

Anyone know what the part numbers are for these two hoses that come from the power steering fluid reservoir? They are rock hard.

So, the skinnier hose is 44406-50160 Power Steering Return Tube. https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/lexus-tube-sub-assy-return-no-1~44406-50160.html

The thicker hose is 44348-50010.

I wonder if there are any auto parts stores that sell generic hoses. Or if anyone knows of a Toyota that shares the same part.

Usually. Most will not have any bends, sometimes they have hoses with a long straight section and then a 90 degree. Can cut to fit. Problem with OEM here is depending on the part, you need the rubber section but they make you buy the entire thing. 44348-50010 is available and reasonably priced, 44406-50160 looks to be NLA. For this you should be able to get away with generic for the rubber section.

You can use 3/8" P/S return hose for that short section of rubber on the end of the long return "tube" (44406-50160). It's a tight fit, bit it works. It'll save you from the pain of having to route the replacement assembly. I found and used a short length of 10mm (the proper size) hose that's chemically compatible. The color is a but odd.

I’m really having a hard time understanding which ATF fluid to use for the power steering. This was what I bought based on my research.

I obviously don't know what they sold you but it's likely 3/8".
It will work but it's not ideal, you'll see...

Dexron III or equivalent.
V MaxLife does not carry a Dexron license or any license for that matter. It should be ok in the PS tho...
Just don't put it inside your transmission.

I don't think anything is Dex II/III licensed anymore it expired yeas ago. Having said that, MaxLife is the most over rated ATF in history so many people recommend the stuff it's about average.

Unless something has changed very recently Toyota still sells Dex III in a Toyota labeled bottle. You're right the license prob isn't even available anymore but I'd trust Toyota.
Agree 100% re MaxLife. Marketing BS in a bottle...
