Default ECU Question

My LS had the computer replaced in 2006 at the dealership. My question is if Lexus had updated the ECU with the proper capacitors by this point? Should I expect this ECU to have the same issue as the originals?

The ECU serial number is 9617509-623P if that helps.

As long as your ECU has a label which says Denso remanufactured/refurbished or something similar, proper capacitors were used. Nichicon's P series QAS capacitors were discontinued at the end of 20th Century and successor capacitors were used by Denso for the refurbishment. If the dealer used a stocked original ECU, Nichicon P series may be inside and it's time to fail. If there isn't label, I need to see inside for the judgement.

Okay very good, the ECU does say "remanufactured for Toyota" near the part number.

Thank you for your answer.
