Plan B; I'm gonna use a hole saw to just take a 2" circle out of the rotor shield. It's far easier than any of my other options and I can just tape it back in place with HVAC tape when I'm done. Plus it allows me to turn the press from the side where I can get as much leverage as I want and don't have to lay on the ground.

Yup, holesaw strategy for the win. That was super easy. Rounded off the edges of the hole with a dremel so I didn't slit my wrist. The most time-consuming part was finding an extension cord for the dremel.

two things;
One; I might be mistaken but isn't there just two small bolts holding the shield on? Wouldn't that have been easier?
And two; just an observation, your wheel chocks should be in front of the tires while jacking it from the back so it doesn't roll forward off the jack stands. Unless you're working on a hill backwards.
Oh, and three; the HVAC tape won't hold that piece back in place, too much rust.
But after all that, I applaud you for doing what ya had to do to get the job done, good job.

2. Yep, on a slight hill here.
3. No rust on those shields but they are dirty. I decided against the tape plan anyway, because I'm lazy.
