I have a '98 LS400 with the Nakamichi unit. Works perfectly. Just can't read the LCD. What are my options? And I have spent 40 minutes reviewing threads here and am still lost.

Any advice?

 

other than going to tanin electronix (CL vendor), you can get a 2nd hand radio from ebay or your local recycler (car-part.com) for a quick fix.

 

I pushed up with my fingers in the empty cassette tray and my display now reads perfectly. Hot diggity dog!!!

 

Try again and maybe a bunch of gold coins will fall out! That is amazing. My nakamichi also sounds great but the cassette player wont play right. Maybe I should give the display a big poke. LOL

 

Find one with a good LCD on ebay and swap it in. Or if you really like your radio unit face/buttons, etc then you (or we) can swap out the LCD from a good unit into your radio.

There are no new LCD's available and there is not enough demand for us to manufacture new ones.

Pioneer still sells new replacement LCD's so we can still do those.
