I really dont feel like searching for it, but does anyone know what the small bulb (#7&8) is for in a 99 LS400 headlight?
I only saw one piece of info that said it may be the parking light but I'm still confused haha.
Interesting. I have a 98 with the LED's, but I cannot turn any lights whatsoever on during the daylight. The main headlights automagically come on at night when the light sensor is covered, but it's impossible for me to run in "DRL" mode. I wonder if my bulb(s) are out?
The headlight switch has these positions: Off-Park-On-Auto If you put the switch in the ON position the headlights should come on regardless of ambient light. The pilot lamps should come on in both the PARK and ON position.

#7 is the bulb itself - #194 or #168 wedge-type bulb will suffice.
#8 is the bulb holder/housing - it's long because it has to go pretty deep into the housing to get into the reflector area of the main headlight.
this is a "city-light" or part of the light array when the switch set to the parking light and headlight. yes it's a parking light!
