I tried to search all over the forum but a lot of links are now unfortunately dead. If anyone has gone down the same route and could help out it would I would appreciate a lot. I have a 1990 ls400 in cobalt blue with the blue interior and I am trying to look for some colour code (if any) or a company that makes a leather dye to match the factory leather. I’m going to seek out some leather specialists but I’m trying to save some time trying to find a matching colour as i know restoring this beautiful machine is going to take some time. Thank you all in advance
Hi TheTallOne,
I was surprised to find the online dye suppliers on the first page of search results don't list the blue leather among their products. https://www.seatdoctors.com/lexus-le...ls-leather-dye sorry it looks like you may need to have it custom blended.

Yeah it’s not been fun trying to find a good match. I’m thinking of cutting a small piece from a spot that’s already too far gone and taking that to a specialist to match. I appreciate your response and link!
I'm doing the upfront work in order to do the leather in my Acura Legend. What I have found with Acura pretty much applies to Lexus - trim color info is nebulous and hard to determine from an image on the internet.
Moving on, the trim (interior) color code is on the certification label attached to one of the door jambs.
Certification Label - Interior trim color code
Most leather restoration places will color match to a sample.
Note 1: Leatherique has a pretty good booklet (downloadable) that describes the restoration process. I've attached it here.
Note 2: I read someplace that Lexus changes their trim codes every year. If this is true, it would be difficult to find a database of every trim code in existence.
Note 3: Because of the age of our cars, some leather restoration places will no longer have the trim codes on file. Contacting them directly is probably the best course of action.
