Where exactly is the yaw sensor on 2000 LS400?
I have the attached diagram, which suggests it's somewhere around the rear seat. We looked in the trunk and under the rear seat and it's nowhere to be found. We also looked under the front console, where the LS430 has it, and it's not there either.
So where exactly is it? How do we get to it?
Many, many thanks for any advice.

I remember reading that the yaw sensor is close to the center line of the car. Might it be behind the rear seat back rather than under the rear seat? Wild *** guess here, but from the diagram that would look about right.

This is the best diagram I could find. Looks like behind the passenger side trunk panel?

Thanks. I also have that diagram and based on that diagram we looked all over the inside of the trunk. Nothing there. Also nothing under the seat. I'm not sure whether they looked behind the seat. We're going to try again on Tuesday and I'm hoping to get the info before then so that it doesn't become Where's Waldo.
Thank you again to anyone who might have info.

ChatGPT says:
For some Lexus LS400 models, especially around the late 1990s, the yaw rate sensor is located underneath the rear seat on the passenger side. You'd need to remove the seat cushion to access the sensor.

It's not behind or under the rear seat. We also looked in the passenger-side rear quarter (pillar) panel; not there either. Still looking.

I dug through the parts diagrams and it looks like the sensor is mounted inside the trunk, either to the panel behind the rear seat back or under the parcel shelf. Keep in mind that Toyota parts diagrams can be wonky and not really detailed.

Excellent work! We also found it just now, by tracing the wire all the way from the VSC computer. And yes, in the same place as you found it. Thanks for everyone's help.
By the way, the one for 98-00 is different from the earlier ones. An eBay seller mistakenly told me all LS400 yaw sensors are the same. They're not.
