Toyota Celsior ucf21 air conditioning quantity
Hi all,
I have a 1996 Toyota Celsior ucf21 which has a rear air purifier / air conditioner. So has a greater capacity than one without I would imagine.
Does anyone know what the required quantity of R134A would be for this system?
For when I get it professionally recharged.
Also I'm changing the air conditioning compressor and dryer which I purchased from rock auto. I'm guessing I'll need to drain the new compressor and fill it back up with the same quantity of what I remove from the old compressor and dryer?
Thanks,
Connor.

There is a sticker under the hood that should show the refrigerant capacity. Correct on the oil, make sure you drain the new one because sometimes they come with too little or too much oil in them. You wont be able to drain the receiver drier but the TSRM specifies how much oil to add when replacing it.

Quick search yielded this: https://www.mahle-aftermarket.com/eu...ng-quantities/
There are other similar charts; the numbers appear identical: https://www.hella.com/techworld/us/T...antities-2114/

Thanks for the replies.
I have a sticker under the bonnet (hood) but it only specifies the refrigerant type and the oil used but no quantities.
I did find some info online for the quantities of oil that's needed for the compressor, dryer and other components.
But couldn't find much on refrigerant quantities so that attachment is a big help. 900-1000g.
Thanks,
Connor.

I checked my service manual and it says to add 10cc or .34floz of refrigerant oil (ND-OIL 8) to the new receiver when replacing the receiver. EDIT Sorry this is for the 1998-00 model so it may be different for yours.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the hydraulic cooling fan for a Toyota celsior ucf21 should run on its higher speed when the air conditioning is switched on?
I recently had mine recharged. 900g of r134a since I have the rear air conditioner as well.
It's not ice cold and when idling, the condenser gets really warm. And the fan speed is normal.
After driving and coming to a stop the fan will ramp up and down but I guess that's to control the coolant temperature rather than due to the air conditioning.
Thanks,
Connor.

The hydraulic fan speed of my 98 Celsior does not quickly change when the air conditioner is turned on. It increases the speed after a few minutes. It seems to me that the fan speed is controlled by the water temperature sensor + some other factors, I imagine.

I think that's different to the hydraulic pump driven fan of the Celsior's.
