Default 1995 Toyota Celsior

Looking at one for sale for $13,000 with 54,000 miles on it. What should I be expecting with an import? As I understand it, it is an LS 400, but are there other factors I should be aware of? The vehicle (appears) to be in great condition.

The car will not have OBD1 or OBD2, it uses the Japanese whatever custom system, so you will need to buy a Japanese port scanner and read the ECU that way. Diagnosis will be significantly more annoying compared to especially the OBD2 cars (1996+).

Mechanically the car is similar to the LS400 yes.

Importing will cost thousands. Is that $13,000 before fees\duties\registration? Or are you buying from an importer who has already done all of that.

I didn't consider that about the Japanese port scanner. Good to know. I will ask the owner if he has one if I reach out to him. The car is already here in the USA, so import fees will not be an issue as far as I'm aware.

Why do you want a Celsior vs. a LS400?

I don't really have a preference. There aren't many LS 400s for sale even within hours of where I live. It just popped up for sale nearby and I had looked at LS 400s in the past, as I would like to have one.

You need to know that there is a common engine halt/stalling problem among aged 95 models.
