Re Sealing my engine
I have a ls400 1997 with about 176k miles on it. It has some pretty bad oil leaks such as from the valve cover seals front and rear crank seals and oil pan. The engine recently went into limp mode as I had it on some rams flushing the radiator and was wondering due to the excessive oil leaks would something have leaked some where it was not supposed to and cause the engine to go into limp mode and if I had the engine re sealed and cleaned up would that solve the problem saying that it was working good prior to this.
Symptoms
- Wont rev over 2k rpms
-Wont go in reverse
-D, N 3, L, gears all make the car roll forward
-oil leaks from seals
The transmission issue only happened after I had the car at an angle and revved it a little to bleed coolant system.(would i need a whole new transmission or would this be related to the car being in limp mode.
all comments and feed back would be nice really don't wanna have to scarp the car.

Is the correct amount of trans fluid actually in the transmission? Measured with the engine on with the car warmed up on level ground.
Has the ECU been fixed? If not, it is the 1st thing you should address.

Re-sealing the engine will stop the oil leaks and that's always good. But it won't do anything else for the rest of your concerns.
