Smell of gas and no initial power.......OH MY
I am currently driving a 1995 Lexus LS 400. Has roughly 180,000 miles and the back cat has been removed. This car was serviced pretty responsibly until about 2 possibly 3 years ago. It also rides so low to the ground which I'm sure has messed up something underneath. I love these cars but if I would continue to drive this baby much longer in it's current condition, then it's definitely on its way to the Lexus graveyard. I'm overwhelmed on what all it will probably take to get it in great driving condition. Maybe I should just sell it but to who and how much ugh!

Any check engine codes? Are you able to check the fuel trims? Has the ECU ever been checked / serviced?
Unfortunately, the car being lowered and the rear cat being removed may make the problem a little harder to understand

Where would be the best place to buy and replace the ecu? I ordered a fuel filter and I probably need to order a new fuel pump as well. Unfortunately this car was only getting the cheapest reg unl gas and what I was told, it stayed on the side of roads , constantly being ran totally out of gas, the majority of its last 3 years of life. So, that's why I don't know if I will be able to spend the amount of money this car will even need to be my everyday car. I'm just sick over it.
