Default Crankshaft seal leak?

Hello. I recently bought lexus ls400 year 1993.
is this crakshaft seal leaking? Its also missing a bolt so it might be the problem? What is the correct size for that bolt?

That's just a plastic cover for the timing belt. The crank seal is most likely the cause of the leak, but your cam seals are probably leaking too. I'd start preparing for a timing belt/water pump job with a cam/crank seal replacement.

just to further clarify, that bolt is not overly critical since it's just to secure the plastic cover.
as already stated, the crank seal is the main culprit for the leak. the cam seals should also be tackled as it's likely bad/aged as well. it's all accessible via a timing belt replacement!

I will also agree....the bolt is just to hold that corner of the timing cover, it actually helps keep the dust and dirt out away from the timing belt. At this point it doesn't matter cuz you probably have oil on the timing belt from the cam and crank seals leaking in there.
Timing belt replacement (and seals) is inevitable in the near future. It's not a hard job if you follow http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html .
