Default Ect sensor

Hey guys I’m trying to get a ect sensor for my car but every one I buy that looks like sensor 2 and 3 in the images ships and is actually sensor 1 and doesn’t fit the corresponding female plug, I got a Delphi one and a aisin one but they both shipped as the wrong one does anyone know how I could get exactly sensor 3 in the image.

where are you purchasing from? make sure you have the right model year for your LS, and the right sensor. there is another sensor for the gauge cluster, but that's a single pin and smaller.

I’m buying for a 1999 Ls400 from rock auto I went to oriellys and AutoZone to see there sensors and all of them in store are ect sensor 1, I need ect sensor 3 since that’s what my car is currently running and the location it’s in is right next to the throttle body, I know I’m doing it right it’s just I can’t find sensor 3 in the picture every sensor I look at is sensor 1.

I believe my issue is someone replaced the ect sensor and pigtail connector with an aftermarket one, as all generations of ls400 use sensor 1 in the image above. Now my ls400 does not support the oem sensor because the connector they spliced in is not the same as oem probably some other Toyota ect sensor and harness. Im gonna splice back in the oem harness and the ect sensor I already bought for the car will fit after that.

In case of a 99, you need to use this. I don't recommend any aftermarket parts for an ECT sensor because it's a very strict part and many had a bad experience using those.

^^ true. Without a proper reading the engine will never run properly you'll waste a bunch of gas.

am I looking the the wrong spot then?

the sensor I am trying to replace is the green one, I’ve heard that aisin and Delphi make the oem Toyota sensors before they are repackaged as a Toyota sensor but neither of the ones they sent me fit the female plug of the ect sensor, and I am shopping for the correct year.

I was under the impression that aisin or Delphi make that sensor before it is repackaged as a Toyota sensor. Either way that sensor with the splines on the side does not fit in the Connector that is currently on the car.
