I was just wondering- are the remote keys on the 90-94 LS400 waterproof? The previous owner of my car had let crud build up in the channel of the key and want to know if I would be able to wash it, without destroying the remote system in the key. Thanks.

Or here is another way of putting it - Have you ever had your remote key under water and if so, did it ever work again? LOL

Thanks. I was hoping it would be waterproof like some watches- wishful thinking.
I could take a paper towel and put a little alcohol on the towel and try to get it out. It is just inside the crevis on the key teeth. It is more irritating than anything.

There should be a little screw where you can take the plastic peice apart and clean it. Just a FYI but I wouldn't try this at home. I jumped in a swimming pool with mine one time and the sensor didn't work. And after a few days (dried out) it worked again. But like I said, I wouldn't try it, I think I just got lucky.
