Thx guys...I really appreciate the support. I kinda questioned myself about the whole thing at first but now I see that I am doing the right thing.
I actually have all those videos about making a 1khp supra on my PC but I don't have the money for sending my top end to be completely polished in and out. When the time comes I will do some of those "super trick" mods too

TT idea is great......
Why or what was it that you were going to do on your old engine that made it so expensive that this route will cost less? Doing what Lextreme did and this swap is less cause you got a good deal on the TT engine? Your old engine had to many miles and you wanted less to build on?
You want max hp in the future and this is the best route?
If I remember right I liked your 1st idea better.
I know both would of been nice but I like the original engine idea getting beeeeeeefffed up.
Got luck and hope everything works out as you planned.

You know what I was about to ask him the same thing, wouldnt it be much more cost effective to beef up the existing V8? With the cost of getting the Supra motor and tranny, then getting it custom mounted, you wouldve had a very stout 1UZFE, and probably enlisted an experienced guy to turbo the 8!
If you look at it this way the 2JZGTE motor can push 1000whp, but the amount of boost they are running to get that is insane, you are looking at 20+ psi. If I remember correctly the HKS guys built thier Toyota V8 and it made 1500whp with low boost setting of 18psi
The only major draw back with the V8 is room
But good luck and I cant wait to see the finished product when done

The guys pose another good suggestion about the 1UZ. Dropping in a VVTi 430 will yield some nice gains or even the '98-00 with Jbrady's headers would put the car into the mid-300HP range. Over the UCF10/11, that is a nice step-up. May not be as dramatic as a TT inline six swap though.
What is the goal performance wise?

My goals for now are around 600rwhp. I already know that a stock 2JZGTE block would be able to take it before I have to start working on the internals (which we don't have for 1UZF). We don't even know for sure what kind of power 1UZF can take. The TT setup was pretty interesting but there was only one way the turbos could be accommodated with 1UZF (space) and there had been problems with that setup. To get to 600hp I would have to lower the compression on the block, buy a supercharger that can support such power and pay some major labor costs on that. That right there would put me at over $8k and I still doubt I would have enough potential with that setup.
On one of the meets I have seen an older BMW 5 that had a 2JZ in it. That thing was a monster, it sounded good and it was a jaw dropper to look at. That’s when I thought of the 2JZ idea. Spark Racing said it should not be a problem when I talked to them about it and I have seen enough of their work to be sure that they will do a good job.
My basic reasoning is, why do something that no one knows nothing about when I can do something that is as unique (even more unique now) and has huge aftermarket following.

I have discussed this with retro few times. One of the problem with the LS400 is that heavy as hell and Inline 6 might have minor problem pulling such heavy car. Secondly, if you want 600 rwhp. You will need lots of mods beside just a turbo upgrade. We are talking about BIG bucks. Injectors, fuel rails, Fuel pumps, Stand Alone computer, Intercooler (No one know about intercooling in a LS400 more than ME and there is no room for large intercooler. With possible cutting some part of the front bumper, but still max would be about 10" x 3.5" x 36") single turbo, turbo manifold, pipings and down pipes.... Basically, the whole TT system need to be renew and upgrade.
I can understand having a swap in a SC300, but LS400 has a nice V8 already and the car is heavy. The cost of the motor, swap and upgrades can run very very high. Unique? yes, but this car will be mostly for show. The WOW factor is there, but i will not run as well as a SC3 with 2J swap.
With that amount of money, I would get some JE forged dished pistons, rods, head and exhaust work and lots of boost. Vortech V1 T-Trim can support up to 825 bhp. If more required, there are lots of superchargers will support over 1,500 bhp.

Agreed...the 2JZ has been well "refined" and offers a known path to follow. This will be an interesting project for us to read.
BTW Any word with "Stan Lee" and his SC? Do I recall right that he'd stated up to 20 psi capability?

I already have all the estimates for the single turbo upgrade on my car and I let the installation and fitting to my mechanic. I have seen them do impossible so I trust them. Besides, supercharged LS has been done already, there is nothing in there for me or the people I am promoting.
