Oil Leak!!!
I recently did my oil change and to my surprise saw oil on the bottom of my oil pan! I tried to search for the origin of the leak but with no luck. I check the oil regularly and it doesnt seem to be leaking much.
I have an 1990 LS400 with 149xxx miles on the clock. My questions are::
What or where should I look to find this leak?
Is this a common problem with the first gen LS?
I really am in love with this car and was planning on modding it this winter season to be ready for the summer, but the leak really bothers me. I dont want to "fix up" the car and later on to find out that it is something major.
Can anybody help?

i've always had a little leak in my oil pan, its probably the gasket or something.. I have still have a leak for my car, so i wouldnt know if its common, but i got one. I dont think its a big deal unless it leaks a lot of oil. because the car is 13 years old. Theres bound to be some sort of leakage somewhere..

The most comon oil leaks around oil pan on the 1st gen LS is the oil pan gasket and the dip stick tube o-ring. The part is cheap, but the labor may be around $200.00 depending on where you live. Lexus/Toyota used some black silicon sealant for the oil pan called FIPG around $25.00 per tube and the dip stick tube o-ring around $6.00. The labor for oil pan gasket should not be more than 2.2 hr and the dip stick tube o-ring is .5 hr.
