Default Car is Hesitating

Man,
When I have a problem I know to rely on you guys for help. Here's the problem. This morning I was on my way to work going 70 and the car in front of hits their brakes so I shifted to the next lane, but I had to rev up and going faster so the car behind me wouldn't hit me. I nearly floored the gas pedal, and then the car jerked, and the rpm needle went from 5 to 3 rpm swinging back and forth (for a while) with no accerlation. I had to hit the brakes (just so the brake light would come on), so the car behind wouldn't hit me. Then all day after that incident everytime my car hits above 2.6 rpm the rpm needle the the car starts jerking like its about to stall on me. Called lexus and they said it might be the throttle body, and the butterfly might have shifted. Does this make sense? Does anyone else know what this might be?

Perhaps the throttle position sensor ?
My car (91, 150K) always hesitates for about 0.5 sec when I floor the gas pedal and I haven't had a chance to check it out.

I've noticed that it happens around about 60 mph and over. The car is hestiating the whole time not just for a few minutes. Everyone on the road is staring at my car now, cause I think you can tell from the outside the car is shaking.

Take it to the dealer and have a road test. I had a more scary experience one day on the highway when my car first hesitated and then stopped accelerating and then the engine died on me!! I was able to pull to the side, restart the engine, and drive to the dealer. It happend on a very cold morning last winter. The dealer replaced a chip under warranty and it never happened again. Needless to say, I was scared and angry!

Thanx for all your help. Took it to the dealer yesterday and they checked it out. Apparently the cam shift sensor connection severed, and the connection wasn't making full contact with the sensor, causing the engine to at funny. Anywaz they fixed it and it seems ok. Wish I had a warranty on the car, so I don't have to pay them all the time, but $110 bucks was much better than the usual lexus charge for something going bad. Again thanx for your help.
