Ok, thanks. I'll call a mechanic and see if disabling is even an option/recomnmended (and post back here as to result). If I decide to fix the problem: I got an online discounted price for the ABS controller for $800 less than the dealer quote. Is this possible? Also, from reading this board, I picked up a few leads to salvage and reman options (the latter with one year warranty!). Those are w-a-a-y less than the $1900 dealer part quote!
