Wait a second,
Doesn't traction control include rear-wheel sensors and what-not?
What exactly are the parts included with the traction control system? How much do you think they weigh?

100lbs? hmm, if it takes a mechanic less than 2 hours to remove it then im getting it yanked i only thought it was prob 20 or so lbs + one less butterfly in the way of the incomming air, hmm im def interested now

Are you kidding!!!
When I said 100 pounds I was guessing. I was also referring to the total weight of the TRAC system, not just the throttle body. A non-trac throttle body probably weighs almost the same as a trac one. You need to look at a shop manual. There is no way any mechanic could remove the entire trac system in less than 2 hours.
I can't spell this out any clearer, leave it as is.

Why don't you go and test drive one of the car (same year as your) without the trac. system and find out if it does any better than the one with trac. option...
I don't understand why you want to spend money to take the trac. out of the car where other people paid extra as an option. Beside you live in Pennslyvania, you need this. If you want a fast car, get a Vette. Even all Corvette have traction control standard since 1992

I pushed the track off button (held it in for a good five seconds just to be sure), but the track warning light in the dash STILL comes on. I want to overide the trac system, since the warning lights comes on and stays on. I was told it would cost more than 2 grand to fix the abs system controller. They ran codes and tell me this is the problem. So I want to turn it off. The car drives fine, just the Trac light stays on. It goes off when I turn the car off, but when I use it again, it comes on again after a few minutes of driving around.
