1st Gen LS Owners - Interesting email, help needed
We got this email on one of our general informational ClubLexus accounts. It was interesting enough I thought I'd post it and see if one of you mathematically minded LS owners can figure out an answer!

Subject: question 92 lexus
Would you or someone in your club no if a 92 LS400 w/135k mile could reach the speed of 105mph in seven tenths of a mile?
I live in Atlanta and I think I have a redneck cop who wants to nail my son. Any help would be great
Bless you

Based on http://www.web-cars.com/math/qtr_mile.html (1/4 mile calculator) and the curb weight of
3748lbs from http://www.carfolio.com/specificatio...car/?car=25773 it should hit the 1/4 mile at 15.6@94.9mph. So I don't see why it couldn't hit 105+mph at most 3/4 mile. My 93 still pulls fairly well at 90+mph.

I'm guessing that there was a short distance that his son could have accellerated to that speed and he doesn't think the car would be physically able to do that. Might be input into court case that the equipment wasn't working correctly.
BUT based on calculation Supra94red did, looks like he's screwed.

If they really wanted to avoid the ticket, you could just start tampering with the engine so that it wouldn't be able to hit 105, and have a mechanic verify that. Possibly by removing some spark plug wires or???
But this is highly illegal so don't do it. . . I would never do that ;-)
