RSR Springs

RSR Springs
Anyone has experience or knowledge about RSR springs, especially the Ti2000? Someone suggested RSR springs for my LS but I couldn't really find much information except a few sentences at www.rs-r.com. I was told the ride is very similar to stock...Anyone recommend or not recommend these springs with stock shocks?

My thought would be toward the Eibach with it's known qualitites. There were some offered in the LS classifieds section a bit back. If the drop is not agressive enough, I'd consider the Tein CS as being discussed in another thread.
Both Mike and I have the Eibach/Bilstein combo and to me, the ride is quite nice.

RA40 Are you still stock height on your 97? If not, what setup specifically did you use and how much drop did you get? This is on my "next to do" list for my 97 and I have had some difficulty discovering what combo would work out best...Thanks

In my application, the front came down about 1.75" and the rear 1.5" with the Eibach Pro Kit and Bilstein HD's. The front wheels set nearly equal to the fender and the back has about a 1-1.5 finger space. This is the lower snap ring setting up front and the high setting in rear. The pics of Lexkost's car is about the same as mine. From side to side, the driver side of the car does sit a touch lower on mine. 1/8" up front and about 1/4" in the rear from left to right side.
I think the Eibach Pro Kit and Bilstein HD's are a nicely matched combo. Ride quality, if 10 is stock, it is about an 8 now. To me, the car feels firmer but not overly so and the handling is much improved. I debated the JIC FLT-A2 however I am pleased with the spring/strut combo I have now. Ground clearance is estimated at about 4.5"-5".

EIback pro-kit and Bilstein HDs. It sounds like you got about what I was looking for in drop. Not too concerned about losing some of the ride quality as performance is a bit more critical under current driving conditions. Do you feel like lke you have gotten rid of a lot of the roll at higher speeds?

The advertised drop may be dependent on the insulator. I don't know if a new insulator is flat or has a groove for the angle on the spring. Presuming a new insulator is all flat, the drop would be about 1". By reusing the old insultor which has a depression from the spring, the drop may be more or less depending on insulator wear. With the snap ring settings on the Bilsteins, you can drop it an additional 3/8" inch.
There is a marked reduction in body roll and the car does feel much better at highway speeds. For my application, I wanted improvement in handling without too harsh a ride along with a reduction in fender well gap...I got it and am pleased. If you are out for more spirited driving, then I would consider an adjustable coil-over system for height and rebound adjustment.

I live in southern Bavaria, about an hour north of Munich. As soon as I get everything mounted up I will be sure to post impressions. I spend alot of time on the autobahn so an absolute increase in performance, while still maintaining some level of civility, is important. It sounds from that other thread that the Tein CS should give some of the best of both worlds. Prost!

johnnyc, I feel you've made the right choice given your road and driving conditions. I would enjoy the opportunity to be able to drive mine at speeds above 70 MPH legally. The thought of seeing one of our cars on an open road running with the other Euro sedans makes for a nice mental image.

Now if I could just find someplace that has them in stock...new wheels go on tomorrow and I still haven't found a set! The quest continues. I will not be subject to 6-8 weeks if I can help it!
