Paul,
The jerking problem NC and I had only occurred in '95 and '96 cars. Here is the list of all the TSBs for the '94 car.

Like NC said, if you want the detail of the TSB, you'll have to subscribe and for $25 it is well worth it.

Fixed!
Picked up the car last Friday afternoon after returning to town, drove it down to the beach, and it drives perfectly now! No throttle shock, no jerking, no vibrations, no nothing. I can't even tell when it shifts gears for cryin' out loud! It's perfect, and the dealership didn't charge me a single penny! That ECU really made a HUGE difference. I see what you mean JC about how it will drive a little differently. I like it though very much! It's much easier to drive in my opinion, much much smoother. This site really saved me from a long battle of trying to figure out what the problem was. I would have never even thought about the engine computer at all an spent countless hours and money chasing phantom issues. Knowledge is key to everything.
Thanks JC!

I'm not really sure. The ticket write-up only indicated the ecu unit, but the car doesn't vibrate anymore at certain speeds, so I think they might have balanced the tires as well. They did something right, because it runs great now. Not a single vibration, shimmy, hesitation or anything, just smooooooth as glass, and quiet as a church. I drive my 2001 maxima se every now and then and I just can't believe the difference between the two. The only thing the LS doesn't do right is the steering wheel retracting when turning the car off. It doesn't go all the way up most of the time. It seems to just pull the wheel back and up maybe a half inch. If I tap the key into the ignition again it seems to move it up completely. That's no big deal in my opinion, probably an easy fix if I ever care to do it. The thing is nearly 10 years old after all. It's nice to drive a car that doesn't have to wind itself up to 4000 rpm to get up to speed. I rarely peak 2200 rpm these days. Awesome machines, I clearly see why they're voted #1 in customer satisfaction year after year. German is nice, but too many problems. You know what BMW stands for? Better Maintain Weekly. I highly recommend Johnson Lexus of Raleigh for anyone wanting a used Lexus. Even though I had to corner them on the ECU unit, that was to be expected considering the cost involved. I don't think there is a dealership anywhere that would not of at least tried to get out of it. It's the nature of the game.
