yes you should. I bought them replacing michelin mxv4 energy's and the are eons better. much better tread pattern then those you got too. the contis are very quiet and the car feels planted and its amazing how much less floaty they feel at high speed.

Did you consider going with 245/45/18? Your speedometer would have been more accurate. Running with 40 series you're off by like 2 miles/hr (too slow).
Not a big deal, it's true that you're slightly getting better handling running with 40's over 45's though.

I had asked the Michelin rep at Taste of Lexus about the speedo error. His comment to me was that a 5% deviation was considered acceptable and 3% was typical margin for most speddo's.
Although this set-up added about 8 pounds per corner minimal, the wheel tire combo exceeds the handling capabilities of the car. These BFG are fantastic dry and wet, the turn-in is instant and light. With the rain we've been having, these things don't feel any different than dry conditions. One comment though...this additional rotating mass does show up driving over road variations, bumps, braking and accelerating. I'm looking into some things to reduce the unsprung weight.
