The Licoln is crap. Too many problems. My sister had many problems with her. Get the lex, you'll be very happy.. BTW, how old are you?

really? the lincolln is crap! im 16. i dunt understand why noone likes the 94 ls i put a pic of, i think its nice. Everyone likes the 95 for updated changes, but i like the look of the 94. My daad is making me get low miles, under 70k, so i think theree wont be too muchh wear on the 94.

This thread and the accompanying URL in that thread will be enlightening.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=148090

Some may have good luck with Lincoln, for the most part, it is a car that is worlds different than a Japanese engineered one. The majority of Nissan and Toyotas will run circles as far as reliability, longevity and residual value over others. That is so long as they have not been neglected or abused. There are exceptions as always but for the mass cars, the Lexus LS will be a good value in a quality car and even better from '96+.

If your family has been a supporter of the US labor force/automaker, then you may consider a Camry or Avalon as they are coming from Kentucky. While Ford and GM have excellent technology in hand, their integration into the production cars leaves much to be desired. By the time they hit 100K, ugh. My neighbor's '99 Caddy leaks oil like a kid eating an ice cream cone on a 90 degree day.

A consideration though FWD, the Avalon has nearly the same features and will be within your price point. Even the Altima may be suitable. The Altima has a little bit better aftermarket following if you want to mess with it.

Lots of choices for you. You may wander through the Car Chat section for more thoughts on cars.

Nothing wrong with the '94 Lexus LS. A '94 sample may have a spotty history so to avoid having problems, a newer model is the preffered choice. The reason why so many recco the 95+ is because it had some important changes. Improved 4 piston brakes, a slight increase in engine performance, more rear leg room and the safety standards effective for the time along with the typical refinement.

As well, the GS from 98+ may also work and it is seen as a "younger" generation type car. It has a good aftermarket following so you can alter it to taste if you choose.

You are doing well to ask questions here, the collected experience is invaluable.

ur a really smart guy lol, not really a big fan of an avalon or camry or Altimas (although i like altimas a little bit)...just the lexo's. Ive been looking at gs's and the only one i can get is like a 98 gs300 w/ around a 100k miles. My daads picky about the milage because my br0 had a 95 740 il w/ only 103k miles and it had a lot of problems(probly bc he dr0ve it waay to hard). He doesnt want to spend 14's g's on a gs300 w/ almost a 100k miles. The prices of the 94's w/ low milage are pretty high though. Still looking for a '94 LS in the south fl area(white on tan w/ under 70k miles), found a few but prices were too high, especially the one's at the lex dealership.

This site definatly does help me a lot!!

Thanks everyone

Lightbulb Im 16 Too and want a LS 400 1998

Where in the south FL area do you live. I live in the tampa area. I am still on my search for a 1998 ls 400 silver or black wiht gray or black on the silver and any int on the black. I am going to a auction in lakeland. I go every tuesday and it starts at 4:00pm And the 98 go through there at like 12k for on wiht 100k miles. That is what i am looking for. You have to have a dealers liscence. But i know a guy that is a dealer. when i buy a car he charges $300. Yea a lot of money but worth it when you are saving like 5k on the car of that price.

It is funny to find a 16 year old that wants a ls too. My girlfriend calls it a girlymon car lmao.

I would listen to what the guys have said. I would get a 95+ LS. Let me tell you some of the pluses on the 95+ I know all this because this is what i started out looking for. then i worked my way up to a 98.

Oh and about the Lincon LS well there was a 2001 at the auction and it had 73k miles and it was falling apart and the engion was F**** up. (JUST DON"T GET ONE)

go to ebay for good pictures and to see the inside of cars (any lol)

They have a gated shifer an indash cd changer, better breaks, better smother ride, auto on off head lights. Faster with more hp, they look newer, are bigger and have more room and trunk space for the subs. The stero and all electronics are updated and look better. the sun roof is bigger. It is safer and the inside looks better. The only negative is that they didn't bring back the dual exposed exoust until 2004 lol.

well let me know and email me if you want at cubanpapadj@aol.com

This is what i want my car to look like. I love the basic 5 spoke 20'' rims in chrome.
It goes Bling Bling

I'm here in Tampa too, got the LS in july. I usually go to Greater Tampa bay, but most of the LS's in auctions are/were in an accident at one point or another. So i went for autotrader and found a great deal.

Hey lexo20, my p0ps saiid that i culd get a '98 Ls . Now the hard part.....finding one thats white on tan w/ a decent amount of miles for a cheap price. Silver looks really nice 2, if i find one for a good pice then ill take it. Do they have lower milaage caars at the auctionn for cheap prices also? Im located in Broward County (cooper city), let me know how your search goes w/ your 98 also. Best of luckk. The ls isnt a girlymon caar lol, ur girlfriend just never saw a 16 yeaar old piimpin one out . Your pics didnt come out that u tried to post w/ the 20 inch basic 5 spoke rims in chrome, only 1 came out of a silver one that is nice but no 20s on it.

Default gurlymon car lol

oh sorry the pics come up on my screen i will fix that. At the auction they are higher mileage cars, well most of them but i want one in good shape and my uncle is in the body work biz, so he goes with me but the best way to tell if a car is wrecked is the ratator mounts. if it hasn't been sodders or any thing then it most of the time hasn't been wrecked. but at the auction you can't be two pickie. You could go a month and not see one ls and then you could go in one day and be 20. Thanks for the luck and same with you.The pic wiht the 20's is there now. oh jea i told my girl friend what you said. she said she is still waiting ttill the day that i get this car lmao. I really am in no hurry to get the lexus.

I am driving a 2005 toyota 4runner V8 supercharged limited 4x4 wiht all the toys. but the lexus is a much nicer car. The supercharger i plan on puting it on the lexus. The 4runner is 280 hp stock and it puts out like 350 hp I lexus with 300 should put out about 380- 400 hp.

GRAND LS4 How much did you pay for your Lexus?

Well got to get to bed. I have to be at work at 5:30am

Heey, i jusst found out my cuzin has his deeler lisense . Im gunna give him a call t0day and see wat he can do for me. What r the rotator mounts, how do you know if theyve been soddered, and where are they located? The 4runner sounds niice, was it ur fiirst caar or its just temporary til u get a 98 ls. That lexo is really hott, jasoneo5's '99 looks really nice w/ the 20" staggered rims also. i was searching through the gallery and found another hott one, the rims are ADR Monello.check it out.

Default Radator

IT is a strip of steel that holds the radator in place and you can see it if you open the hood. It is in the picuter in the yellow box. That is where you have to look
