Buying a 1994 Ls400

For the climate control can't you just replace the bulbs instead of paying $250?

This thread is a good reference for the common problems associated with the 1st gen ls400. You have to read in a few pages to get to the list of common problems. My biggest problem with my '93 has been the air suspension. Very costly to replace.

Did u buy the car?
I gotta agree with everyone else - price seems awfully cheap.
I've got a '94 LS400 with 65K on it. The 'book' is about 10K for it. I just had the instrument cluster and a/c panel boards replaced - no lights when the weather's cold. Definitely start up the car when it's cold outside. I don't know what percentage of teh '94 LS have this problem, but it's high. Dealer repairs (without any discount) runs about $2K+.
I have white pearl with grey at the bottom, too. Mine came with tan leather.
Another thing I've have replaced are the lower ball joints and the sway bar bushings.
If the engine's in good shape and the dash lights work, the price prob isn't bad.
They're nice cars, but they are not cheap to run (premium gas; higher insurance); or maintain.
