this weekend i was backin my car outside the garage and accindently hit the auto mirror on my wall.it just got all scratched up but it wouldnt fold in no more so i took it to logo lexus and the bill came out to be a little over 1000 i think thats rediculous for a simple mirror but this car is my baby and price doesnt matter considering how much driving and luxury i get out this car.

That is a *****Lo@d of money for a mirror. It must be something about those mirrors...a few years ago we had an unfortunate accident with a soccer ball and it was $600 to replace the mirror on an Accord.

The passenger mirror was $700 on my LS400. $1000 for the LS430 sounds reasonable because it has power fold in while my car does not.

Accidental damage like this may be covered under the Comprehensive section of your auto policy. Years ago I accidentally snapped the power antenna off of a Corvette by trying to beat the garage door going down. (Duhh) State Farm covered it.
Insurance tip: in general comprehensive coverage (fire, wind, theft, glass, etc) is cheap and there's no reason to carry the same high deductible as you do on your collision insurance, tho many people do. I have a $500 deductible on collision but carry a $50 deductible on Comp.
