I believe that most of the features mentioned were optional in 1990-92 models which also included the mobile phone in the center console and keyless entry and most became standard for 93-94 models.

My car has the Leather interior, Nakamichi system, Motorola mobile phone (useless), Moonroof, heated mirrors, chrome OEM wheels (replaced with 18' wheels), gold package, and keyless entry. I also believe that the body pinstriping was also an option as I have not seen many 90-94 LS400 with pinstripes. Mine has the pinstripes also.

Pinstrip, gold trim, and chrome wheels are dealer added items.

Default I want one

I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and am shopping for a 1993 or '94 LS400.

High mileage does not scare me, and I prefer to stay under 200K if possible.

My ideal car is black jade with either black or tan interior. Basic black or silver will do; however, I do not care for the grey interior. An alternate color palette is the lovely taupe (which might not be its official Lexus name) with the chocolate-brown interior. I really don't like the "gold package," but it wouldn't keep me from buying a car that's otherwise wonderful.

I want everything to be in good working order. I can handle a few dings, blemishes, and signs of normal wear and tear. What I cannot handle is being told a car is "perfect," only to find that its dashboard doesn't light up, that its LCD panel for the stereo/clock/climate control is dark, or that there's "a barely noticeable dent beside the radio antenna." (How does a dent get up there in the first place, and by the way, does the radio antenna work?)

I know these cars are out there, because three of them--yes, three--in my ideal shade of black jade slipped through my fingers last weekend!

I don't mind if the car is currently somewhere outside DFW; however, I would definitely want to see and drive the car in person before purchasing.

Thank you.

Default Keep it going

Heated mirrors on a 1rst gen?
Wow! Good stuff.

BTW: My first service at mile no. 4 was the dealer in FL took out the mobile phone. And that was before it was sold to whomever. I guess they knew better.....
Oh I got pinstripes too. Woo hoo! Makes it go faster. Just kidding.
Now that I've seen some others, I kind of like my stripes, until they start to crack and fade off. Who knows when that will be.

And as for Vanenglish: make friends with a small to mid-size used-car dealer and tell him and his buddies to look for your "dream car" at an auction. There are "wholesale" only car dealers that will go from there and try to buy the car, to sale to the dealer, then sale it to you. They all want a sale and word will get around.
I used to work for a mobile auction, and let me tell you... if you want it, you can get it. It just takes time. There are some crappy car auctions and then there are the Manheim and others that run cars every week. I'm talking high to low, SUV to yugo, push pull and tow, and all the way up to the $100g's italian sportcars.
Other than that.... go to all the autotrader, cartrader, etc. etc. websites you can find. Oh and Ebay is a good start. Just keep looking. Patience young skywalker.

Oh and guys. Make a serious investment in a windowshade for the front windshield, and back too if you want. I got a foil-like reflector shade for the front and it saves my *** from getting burnt when its hot and keeps the leather from cracking.
I put a baby shade in the back. Not the kind that you get wet and paste it on. I'd never do that.
(The kind that looks like the new Jaguar shades, and Inf.'s that go-up and retract with a push of a button. ) I have taken it down during the winter, but UV still is present so I may "tint" soon.

Anyone see a noticable difference with their leather after tinting?????

PEACE!

My leather is already cracked, and I also have the heated mirrors, I think that is stock no?

I"ll post pictures of my taped up sub tomorrow, I left my camera in my locker.

Same with pictures of my moms car. I haven't had time to detail it, so I'm kinda ashamed to post pictures of it

If an '05 needs to be detailed, then you have a serious problem

My ghetto tape job.

What i basically did was take my old front speakers (blown) and cut off the frame part, took out the cone, and just used the magnet to keep the cone on e sub from going too far out, I then taped it together so the magnets wouldn't 'dribble' on each other during long bass.

So far, it works and hits harder then before
