Good stuff, I am definetly not going to cut into my rim. . But as a last resort, I am going to take my car into a guy that has a 'fender bender' that attatches to the hub of the car for more pressure. Wish me luck!

1100 for flaring and paint wow.

You can shave down the caliper to help provide more clearance. The ideal way would be to add a small spacer.

How much would you say that it would be good to shave off? I will probably shave off about 1mm, but I don't know if i should do any more than that. I don't mine doing this because I was going to get them painted anyways.

I am glad I saw this post being that I plan on doing the same mods to my brake and wheels. I plan on shaving my brake and the inner spoke of the wheels to make the clearance I need. I will probably have to run a spacer as well. I you found a way to not use the spacer?

Hey...

Everyone on here is saying you need a more positive offset wheel. I agree...however, why don't you just pull the fenders. It's a much easier alternative than going the flare route.

240 guys do this all the time....and they can run low offsets all day long.

My advice from personal experience with low offset wheels and pulled fenders on an LS400...
Do a pull/roll combination. Make sure you remove the anchors holding the fender liner and cut a slit on each side of the square punch that holds the anchor in. Do not roll without doing this...you will wrinkle your fenders. Mine are wrinkled only at theses areas because I was not advised by anyone. I was experimenting back in the day.

There is nothing wrong with going this route. Your wheels are hot and the size of those lips are dirty!!! Gotta love the guys that go with aggressive wheel setups.

Chris

Oh and lastly, the spacers...as long as they are hubcentric you are good. Otherwise, I've run on nonhubcentric spacers with my 240 waaaay back....they were fine. Hopefully my experiences will help you, I've always learned to either listen to experience or experiment on your own!

thank you!
Chris

Jason,

Can you give me the model of your rims. Very nice... I have an article on rims and tires for the LS. Its not the size of the rims, its the diameter of the tires is more important.

chris_sa:
Could you specify a little more what you are talking about.

Are you talking about the connection between the plastic coating the wheel well, and the fender its-self (at the inner-edge of the fender).
If so, I can see how this sticks out a bit. Are you saying that I should cut it out? Won't the plastic have nothing to attatch to, and therefor sag down onto the wheel and rub against it?

I have heard that there is important wiring up there, would doing this potentially damage any of that.

Re-word'ed:
My fenders can be rolled, but I think I am going to have to cut some of connecting plastic near the inner edge of the wheel well off. Can I do this? Any tips from anybody?

Thanks as always,

-Jason

The front and back rub, and everything would be fine with about 1/2 to 3/4" more space on all. Any ideas on how I would be able to accomplish this?

Let me know what you think!

Jason,

You hit the mark with those rims!! Really nice! If you don't roll the fenders, you may want to consider an adjustable air suspension system...so you can raise it a bit for driving...then lower it to achieve that aggressive look.

Hey all, here is the update:

All I had to do wad switch the front to 225/35/20 and they work GREAT. No rubbing at all really.

I just have to be really careful because the edge of the rim really sticks out now.
