http://www.wholesalewheel.com/quantum.htm
This would be the quantum Tek s10
or the Zennetti series 55 wheels
This would be 18 inch silver.
I am getting these this week with 245/40 tires.I need an opinion and I am confused.

Seriously, I wouldn't waste my money on these rims for a LS...even a used and beaten salvage titled '90 LS400 (not saying your LS400 is of course!) These are low end rims for low end cars...

The Zenetti's aren't even the real wheels. They're cheap 1-piece knock-offs. The real ones are Weds Kranze Cerebus (which is a REAL 3-piece wheel)

You can also move up to 255/40-18 on the tires too (with a 8.5" wide rim)...You should consider lowering the car as it'll look pretty ridiculous with a 4" wheel well gap even if you did 20's.

Don't buy rims for your car just for the sake of buying rims. Buy rims that BELONG on the car. Quantums and Zenetti's don't belong on a Lexus (for different reasons).

What kind of budget do you have for rims and tires?

I would target $2800 as the absolute bottom for rims and tires...Anything less than that, I would just ride on stock rims and tires and save up around to at least $3700 to do it "right". To tell you the absolute truth, I would do nothing less than a high quality 19" wheel for any LS400...a set of 19" HRE's will cost you about $3300 through Swift Racing (Mo has some great prices!)...then figure $800-$1200 for tires.

For $3700, you can do 18"x8.5" Lowenhard BR-5 (silver with a polished lip) which is a excellent rim and it's a REAL 3-piece rim with a great design...that $3700 price includes 255/45-18 Dunlop SP Sport 9000 tires.

Granted, the car is a '90 and sells for around $10K (at least around here) so spending $2800-$4000+ or more may not make much sense to you, but the older LS400s are still PHAT rides and you can really transform it into something really tight.

If the car isn't "worth" spending AT LEAST $2800 on rims and tires, it's not worth fixing up at all. I would just buy some better tires for the stock wheels and just drive it. There's not a DAMN THING wrong with that!

If you take the low road, you just look like you were desperate to put rims on the car just say you had rims. I wouldn't even put those rims on a Civic...

No disrespect intended but I'm seriously sick of people putting low end crap on Lexus cars...is your Lexus a low end car? Then why treat it like one?

Default wheels

You guys kill me with your "What wheels belong on a Lexus" comments. Do you seriously think that someone with a $10K car (Lexus or otherwise) is going to spend $4K on wheels? I guarantee you that no matter what aftermarket rims you put on your Lexus, 95% of the people that see it will think that it looks great. In the end, if you like your rims, that is all that matters.

Default my limit is $1400 for silver rims

This $1400 budget is only for silver wheels and are there any rims you would suggest for that kind of budget. Is there a website I can view the rims you suggested?

Default $1400 budget?!

That is a tall order on some 18" plus tires for $1400.
I myself do not like the Zennitti or the Q-Tek wheels because they weigh too much!
For that budget I don't think you can wheels and some cheap tires (avg. price per rim for 18" Q are $250=$1000 for wheels alone, add on tire which are hard to find for $100 bucks a tire for 18")
I can't see your budget working for even these wheels (Q-tek and Zennitti) and tires.
For that budget you better go used.

Where is the wheels?
I say if you want nice 18" and don't want to dish out too much money then go with some one piece Racing Harts.
I bet you can get some for under your budget.

You know what really kills me? It's how people talk about fixing up their Lexus rides like it's a Civic! When you're fixing up a LUXURY car, your budget shouldn't be the same as someone fixing up a CIVIC DX. My opinion is that if you can't afford to spend the money to do up your car right, why even bother? I'd rather drive a bone stock Civic DX than drive a salvaged titled Lexus with some cheap *** rims on it...There is something call "living beyond your means"...this is what Credit Card companies THRIVE on.

Also, the same 95% of the people that can't tell good rims from fake-*** rims are also the same 95% of the people that can't tell a real Rolex from a fake one. So should we all go and buy fake gold Rolexes to impress 95% of the people? How about impressing YOURSELF? Being proud of what you own and knowing that you got something WORTH owning...not something that just fools others...people that do that are known as FAKERS.

If you want to go for the ultimate in fake rims, why not buy some cheezy 16" knock-off no-namers and then put a carnival spinner on the hub and floss it around town like you have a set of $10,000 Davin's? Maybe 95% of the people will believe it!

If I had a 1990 LS400 and I only had $1400 to fix it up, I would put the money into a money market account (at least make SOMETHING on it, even if it is a few % points...) and then every month, I would put away whatever I could. $20, $50, $100, whatever. Then when I got to $2800, I would THEN buy the rims and tire. Your '90 LS isn't going to be any different in a year or so...

Anyone see Next Friday (with Ice Cube)? Remember the scene when his cousin is trying to tell Ice Cube about how he's got Dubs on his BMW? That's the kinda guy that would do fake rims.

Back to the "which rim for $1400" problem...

The only problem with with doing RH Evolutions (not really Racing Hart, but close) is that they only come 7.5" wide. I wouldn't put tires wider than 235 on a 7.5" rim...anything wider and it'll look like a donut. 225 is better for a 7.5" rim.

Early LS's had 205/65-16's and later on they went to 225/60-16's. If the 7.5" rim width thing doesn't bother you, then RH Evolutions will fall into your budget. Nice 1 piece rims...they're like $300 for 18" siver (the silver finish on the RH Evo C2 is a particularly NICE finish)...$400 for 19" silver (RH Evo C2 is the only one avail in 19") but good luck trying to find tires that fit.

I would do the C2's personally. For tires, you should be running a 225/50-18 or a 235/45-18 (max)...but no one makes these sizes as far as I know...the closest is 225/45-18 which is a tad bit small or a 235/50-18 which is a tad bit large (overall diameter wise compare to both the stock 205/65-16 and 225/60-16 that come on the LS's). For this exercise, I think I'd go with the 235/50-18.

Anyways, he's the link to Dazz's website..
