Ride quality and help identify wheel
Hey guys,
As you all know I just got my 2000 LS400 (silver/black) and am loving it. I was thinking about changing the wheels. I am thinking maybe 18" only due to me not wanting to give up the smooth ride of the car. I am even thinking about keeping the factory wheels because I am scared that if I change the wheels the ride might get too harsh. Can you guys with aftermaket wheels give me your opinions on ride quality with larger wheels.
If I do change wheels I am thinking of the following wheels, the only problem is I don't know what kind of wheels they are. I saw them in the gallery and am trying to figure out who makes them or who owns the car. I really like the look of the wide five star wheel.
Thanks

They're Lowenhart LDR's. If you're not planning on switching out the stock suspension, you won't feel much of a difference in terms of ride quality/comfort as long as you get a good set of tires. You'll feel the road a little bit more, but not enough to the point where it could be called a harsh ride.
Just in case you're wondering what the wheels look like in 20s, here are some pics of khoatrn's...

I have 18" and a stock suspension, the only difference I feel is in a turn. It feels like I have more traction in a turn. With the stock wheels it felt more like I was "floating" through the turns, which is nice, but if you drive fast, you like that feel of control. If you like the look of that Lowenhart wheel you should check out the 18" five spoke wheel for the LS430. It is similarly shaped, but slimmer spokes, giving it a "sportier" look.

Thanks
Funny thing is after thinking about it for a couple of day, I am leaning toward getting LS430 wheels. First they are going to be cheaper than aftermarket (I hope) and I think they also look better (classier look). I am just trying to decide between the 5 spoke or 7 spoke from the LS430

Hey AGC!!! Another wheel that is really close to that, that I have been considering is made by
HELO and it is called the Royal. Not that bad in price around 2000 for a set of 20" (rims and tires)

Hey man, we are almost done with our project Celsior (we have a 2000 and a 2004 on the team). The 2000 is almost done, so hopefully we can post pics in about a week or so and give you some more ideas on your own car
