Assuming there's no LS430, I'd probably go Lexus GS though it isn't comparable to the LS430 in terms of ride quality or comfort, IMO. My wife would probably insist on a MB S-class since she loves MBs. I do not like MBs (especially the S-class cars I've driven) so we'd have to work that out.

To me, that's one of the things I DO NOT like about MBs -- they feel like they are soooo heavy and lumbering, while at the same time not being as comfortable as other cars that are a lot lighter-on-their-feet feeling. After having owned several of both and driven lots of other models that I haven't owned, I feel that MBs are almost the opposite of BMWs -- BMWs feel more agile and sporting than they really are, while MBs feels heavier and much more disconnected than they really are. I really just can't find an interest in owning another MB, but my wife loves them so I may have to someday.

I would probably go with the 5 series just because I love the driving dynamics of bimmers. I would not turn down any of the other cars except the caddys and the infiniti.

Well, I think I would have to go with the Cadillac STS (current generation). I have always been into Japanese reliability, but my mother recently purchased a brand new STS V8, and i was SHOCKED after driving it. I know it is hard for long-term brand lovers to ponder the idea of possibly switching to another brand of vehicle, but you people need to go out and test one of these beasts. You would not believe how amazing it rides and handles. And yes, I own an LS400 and love the car... so don't think that I am a Lexus hater. LOL. Just know that I had to eat my words concerning my misconceptions of Cadillac. I can actually admit that I want a Cadillac now.

I've gone from an LS (a brilliant selection, it was totalled by a truck),
to a Q45 (no so brilliant),
to an SC (2'nd most brilliant selection) to my current search
for another LS 400 '99-'00 (my finest hour).

If there were NO LS (shaking uncontrollably), I would likely go SC, then A8.

Then again, theres the '93-'95 MR2 turbo!!!ahhhh.
