2007 (4th-generation) Lexus LS model plans

i think the long-version will be very appealing to the rich in Hong Kong as most of them will be driven by chauffeur...nevertheless, the second hand value will not be as good as the short one as the rich will not buy the 2nd hand.
in Hong Kong a second hand 92 S600L will get nobody interested in buying and is selling even cheaper than the S320 of the same year.

I truly hope that.....
......the SHORT wheelbase version will be A BIT shorter than the current model (say 3 or so inches shorter), since they will have an option for those that like really long cars, and then they can make the LONG wheel base about 4 or so inches longer than the current one!!
This will give us people who like to really "drive" a more nimble and agile vehicle, as well as better manuverability and parking ease (really hope they do this as it will be a very wise move)
BTW, thanks for the bombshell info!!!!

Ironically, in my opinion,....
......Lexus has some really well styled vehicles and the WORST as well!!!. Current LS and 98-00 LS are really good. The new '06 GS is "THE BOMB" as far as styling goes. The new IS also looks fabulous. The GX 470 and LX 470 are, IMO, very well styled in a "classic" sort of way. RX 330 is just "OK", and so is the current IS. Now, I think the current ES is possibly the UGLIEST car in the universe along with the Pontiac Aztec!! The old ES looked light years better (wonder what the designer was smoking when he drew up the ES's lines looks like a bald, old man without teeth and stupid moronic grin ....and very Buick-ish ) ......but from the new subsequent designs, looks like Lexus learnt it's lesson
..So, if the new LS design is done along the lines of the new '06, you have a SUPER WINNER here!!!

I think/hope that the 2007 LS will finally break away from the cautious evolution of generations 1,2 & 3 and become something more akin styling-wise to the 2006 GS and IS. I'm guessing it may well be closest to the LF-S concept.

I agree that the new ES is one of the ugliest cars on the planet. They needed to make it look a little more along the lines of the new IS and GS. I think the #1 ugliest car/cars have to be some of the AMC cars back from the 60s and 70s such as the Gremlins and Pacers!!. Now you can really rely on the fact that those hippies were smoking something.

THe LS 400/430 has barely grown in length in 15 years, they continue to extend the wheelbase, make it wider, taller, which increases interior room.
I expect the LS in short wheelbase to stay about the same length. The smaller brother, the GS, is 189.9 inches in length.
The LS long wheelbase will haev to be at least a 200 inch long car.
Here is a list of a bunch of different cars and car lengths in the luxury class

I think what the ES needs is a more agressive look especially wearing the Lexus badge. What they need to do is eliminate that front wheel drive crap and offer it in rear drive with optional engines (meaning I6 and V8). IMO a true luxury car is one with rear wheel drive. At least I'm not the only one that thinks the Camry looks better.
