Well I've owned both cars. I have to recommend the LS400, hands down. In the long run you will be sooo much more pleased. I sold my 92 Legend with only 94k miles a little over a year ago...the car had been a problem since the day I bought it. Also how others have mentioned, the styling is very bland. The interior is nice as far as looks go....but the quality is trash compared to the Lexus. The hard shiny plastic dashboard....it just wasn't appealing after a while. lol The car had bizarre problems though, it was known to "shimmy" whenever at idle with the A/C on, it stalled out in the middle of intersections constantly....also sometimes when shifted into reverse, and yes it overheated very easily like someone else said. The LS400 has been another story. Its a 92 also and I couldn't be more pleased...the car actually performs right on par with my parents 01 LS430. I guess you can't make something this perfect much better, its really just about the same as the new ones mechanically, the looks are a little off obviously. Personally I love the looks of the 90s LS400s anyway. I would recommend and of the LS models, if you could get a 95-97 with that "Legend-like" interior, I would say go for it. As far as I know, those are just as impressive as the 90-94's.
