Fuel Door -Dash Switch broken
Thanks for the responses BUT problem is the DASH SWITCH (lower left hand side by your knee) the trunk switch is the only way I can currently refill gas tank
90 LS 400 Lower Dash mounted Fuel Door Release Switch doesn't work
Problem: looks like cable (if there is one?) has broken or come loose. Switch lever is higher than Trunk lever & just moves (Truck Fuel Release switch work fine and Trunk Release on lower dash work fine).
(A) How do you remove the trim to get to the switch?
(B) Is the switch a solenoid or a cable or what?

Hey man,
The SC and LS are very similar in how they are put together so I can tell you what I know about the SC - it may be the same.
It is a cable then opens it. If you need to get it open, if you pull the side carpeting away from the trunk then there is a wire that you can pull that will release the fuel door.
The metal wire is similar to that of the door handle and door lock intside the door panel.s
Under the dash by the switch, if you pull the switch forward you can unlatch the wire hook ( just like in the door panels for the handle or lock) and then go from there.
I don't know if there is a solenoid inside or not, but I don't think there is.
Good luck,
Jonny
