N.O.S. for an LS ??????

I'm curious about the nitrous oxide. Are there any specific kits for the LS (93) or just a universal model?? I'd like to know what kind of prices to expect to pay for a 50 HP shot and anything else to look out for. From the prices I've seen it's a pretty good bang for the buck, but not at the price of a new engine.

If installed and used correctly you could spray without worries of the engine.
A NX kit with a 75 shot spray installed will run around $550-$1200 depending on the options you choose.

ZEX sells a great kit that comes with a micro processor. It changes your sparks and timing i've heard, and it's one of the safes one because it's all computer program. the jet wont shoot until second gear or somehting.. check it out. my friend with a legend has it on and it's great.

Thanks for the info guys. Are there any web sites with more info?? DoubleWhoosh, can you give any details of the install you (your shop) did?? I can't believe this is the first time I've seen this subject in the LS forum. JBrady, any input on this?? I'd think this would be right up your alley.

LS400in520, do you have contact info on ZEX? Website or phone #? I would like to talk to them.
zushwa, thanks for the plug. While I cannot comment on NO2 for Lexus engines I can make a few general statements. NO2 (nitrous oxide) is 2 parts nitrogen and 1 part oxygen. At room temperature and pressure it is a gas but when compressed it is a liquid. Releasing the pressure as it is "sprayed" causes an extreme temperature drop. This "cold" creates an even denser intake charge than the addition of the nitrous and fuel would suggest. Nitrous IS chemical SUPERCHARGING meaning that more air and fuel is introduced into the cylinder than the engine could normally inhale on its own (in our case 4 or 4.3 liters of air/fuel every 2 crank turns). Provided proper fuel is added with the nitrous, and NO detonation is induced, nitrous use does not damage the engine even in fairly large quantities. The engineering of the kit is VERY important in the above statement. Many variables apply. LS400in520 commented briefly on a couple of them and that is why I would like to contact ZEX and querry them on their product. I will post my findings.

It does sound good so far. 55-75HP shot is exactly what I'm looking for. What about the throttle position sensor voltage?? JBrady you have a 96 right?? Since I'm a few (several thousand) miles from my car right now can anyone find out if the earlier model LS's meet this criteria?? Of course the real question on everyone's mind is what does it cost, and what does it take to get installed??

Called ZEX (almost sounds like Sex, appropriate I would say) Good folks, may have to rig a micro switch or extra TPS sensor to activate but will work on all vehicles with a vacuum controlled fuel pressure sensor and return line style fuel system. 90-97 for sure and probably through 00. They may be interested in a group purchase. Kit comes with both a 55hp and a 75hp jet. Self regulating.

So JBrady, there is no chance of detenation, engine blowing up,piston friction,or any type of engine wear if do properly?
Also how about the tranny how much can it support?

what are the neccesites that go with the NOS?
alright now that we know there is a NOS kit for our LS400's what are the required external parts to go with that. i know i am not a mechanic wizard but i know that your engine has to be built a little before you can start running that juice. for instance, i think the spark plugs have to meet a certain temperature, the ignition has to be upgraded, and some other things too. so if any technican could help it would be much appreciated. thanks
